Hope shines brightest when all seems lost.
Stephanie London led a life of comfort and ease in St. Louis before feeling inexplicably drawn back to her father’s roots in the tiny Southern town of Hope Springs. Charlotte Willoughby has lived there all her life and longs to make a new life somewhere else. Stephanie doesn’t know exactly what she’s doing there—or how to occupy her time. And Charlotte doesn’t understand why, despite her overbearing family and reminders of her failed engagement, she’s suddenly led to stay.
Despite its small-town charm, Hope Springs itself is at a crossroads. After a failed reconciliation attempt by two well-meaning pastors, the town is split along racial and cultural lines, with little hope for redemption.
When a terrible tragedy puts Hope Springs on the national radar, the entire town is tested, and both Stephanie and Charlotte feel their lives unraveling. In the midst of heartache, though, they’ll discover the true color of hope . . .
“. . . journeys us through the challenge of breaking through prejudice and hurt for the sake of love and faith.” —Rachel Hauck, best-selling author of The Wedding Dress

Review
“Tate takes readers back to Hope Springs, where new characters are introduced and more is learned about familiar ones. Race relations come to the forefront of the storyline, which is very relevant today. The author has a gift for bringing God’s love and light into even the darkest situation.” “The author has a gift for bringing God’s love and light into even the darkest situation.” (Romantic Times four-star review)

Another Gem by Kim Cash Tate!
By DanielleM
Although it will be hard to top Heavenly Places (read that book ASAP if you have not already!), The Color of Hope is another amazing book by Kim Cash Tate....it picks up where Hope Springs left off, but it is still a fantastic stand-alone novel if you have not read Hope Springs yet.
As in all of her books, Ms. Tate covers profound, timely situations with grace, depth, and an ever-present focus on God and His will and wisdom....her characters are real and human; you will find yourself right in the small town of Hope Springs, wanting to be friends with Stephanie, Janelle, the Soul Sisters, and all the rest - rooting for their joys and sharing in their sorrows.
If The Color of Hope is the first Kim Cash Tate novel you pick up, you will be rushing to read the others, and if you are a seasoned reader, you are in store for another awesome, powerful read!

The Color of Hope - Real Hope
By Rita
The Color of Hope is the newest novel in the Hope Springs series. It is a little more "gritty" than the previous stories - and I like that. Janelle and Kory move forward with wedding plans while Libby searches for meaning in her life. Libby and Travis clearly have a connection but can't go any further than friendship as long as Libby lives a life without God.
The grittiness comes in to play in the racial tension part of the storyline. Marcus, who is black, is attracted to Charley (Charlotte), who is white. Charley's grandfather is a longtime elder at Calvary - Todd's church. He really stirs up the tension here, much the same way he stirred it up in the sixties, allowing things to get out of hand.
Then there's Sam's story. Sam is a bi-racial teenager who doesn't seem to fit in. Her life really begins to get complicated when she tries to be like everyone else in order to be loved.
The Color of Hope is a well-written, sensitive story written by a sensitive author. Ms. Tate doesn't pull any punches, nor does she "side with" blacks or whites. She simply tells a story about PEOPLE. In God's sight, we're all about what's on the inside, not on the outside.
If you want to read a powerful story about love, trials, and a hope for a better future together as God's people, read this one.

Amazing. Loved every word.

In the past, I have reviewed Cherished and Hope Springs by Kim Cash Tate. These are two of my favorite Christian fiction books. Naturally, when I received an email from Booksneeze asking if I would be interested in reviewing Tate's latest book in exchange for an honest review I jumped at the chance. The publication date is listed as April 2nd, 2012 on Amazon, and I highly suggest everyone purchases this book as soon as they can.
I think Tate's books are so powerful because they deal with real life situations that any typical reader could see him or herself in within their own lives. The characters are dealing with each other, racial issues, bullying, and romance while trying to sort it all out with dignity and God's guidance in the foreground. This book had me laughing, wishing I was at the Sander's family reunion, and finally bawling through to the end. I stayed up half the night to find out how the story would conclude and was not disappointed. I look forward to more books by one of my favorite authors, Kim Cash Tate. Is it possible to give it ten stars? LOVED IT.
